Together, these areas compose the future of entertainment. That said, the focus here isn’t on technology but on how technology affects stories and storytelling. The internet is evolving

The internet and the networks built on top of it are undergoing a profound transformation, from a primarily 2D experience—where we scroll through websites and apps, read and write text, view and upload videos, to a real-time rendered 3D experience—where billions of users immerse themselves in vast networks of interconnected 3D virtual worlds and spatial overlays that support an open economy of virtual goods. Some call this the Spatial Web, others Web 3.0, still others, the Metaverse. The label is unimportant; what matters is that the internet is evolving, and so is the way we tell stories.

Stories will become living things

Imagine a world where storytelling isn't confined to a single release date, but instead unfolds like a living organism, growing and evolving with the community. This isn't just a far-off dream; it’s already happening. The old linear content model is giving way to what we might call "Living Stories"—narratives that evolve continuously, engaging fans throughout their lifecycle, where the IP itself becomes the platform.

Five Core Focus Areas

Social media, gaming, and streaming video are no longer separate silos. They are merging into something much larger and more dynamic. These five focus areas, taken together, reflect the future of game engine powered entertainment. A future in which hybrid real-time teams can build cross-functional 3D pipelines that allow for the creation of experiences that transcend platforms, realities, and devices. This requires a new approach to how IP is developed.
